The Unmasked Hour:
An autistic women’s Support Group
A space for autistic women to show up authentically.
Wear your Pjs. No Makeup. No Masking.
Just you and a sisterhood who understand you.
A free, intimate biweekly gathering for late-diagnosed and self-diagnosed autistic women. Honest conversation, pajamas encouraged, no performance required.
The Perfect Fit:
You were diagnosed late and are still piecing together what that means for your life
You're exhausted from masking: at work, with family, even with friends
You've tried to find community but most spaces feel like you have to perform there too
You want real conversation, not another webinar
You just want one space where you can show up exactly as you are
What is The Unmasked Hour?
The Unmasked Hour is a free, virtual, and private autistic women’s support group. It is an intimate space with 5 members per cohort. We meet bi-weekly on Fridays at 8pm EST. Each sessions has a topic and open discussion format. Pajamas welcome (I’m definitely wearing mines!), cameras optional after first session. Presented by the NeuroDiverse Experience Lab. Hosted by a late-diagnosed autistic woman who built this space because she needed it herself.
Bi-Weekly Schedule:

This week we are going to chat about our identities through an intersectional lens. What does it mean to neurodivergent, a woman, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and everything in between.

Let’s talk about careers and work. How do you navigate the workplace, employment, and burnout as an autistic woman?
-

This week we will be discussing the sensitive topic of disability. How do we identify and how do we get support.
*The conversation will include multiple perspectives and no one is required to identify any particular way.

Let’s face it, friendships are SO hard for autistic women. This week we will discuss how to build, maintain, and navigate friendships.
-

Ladies! We are adults, let’s not beat around the bush (pun intended!). In an intimate and open space we will discuss dating, sex, and intimacy. Centering LGBTQ+, poly, asexual, and different forms of identity around relationships.
-
Date: June 3, 2026
Right on time for Independence Day, we will conclude our cohort by reflecting on specific challenges of being an autistic woman and how we have grown as individuals and a community.
About the Host:
Hey, I’m Nisha J. I’m a late diagnosed AuDHD, disabled, bisexual, demisexual, Afro-Latinx woman and founder of the NeuroDiverse Experience Lab. I created the Unmasked Hour because I spent years looking for a space like this and couldn't find one. I am an neurodivergent educator, consultant, and coach. My background is in psychology (M.A.), crisis intervention, and coaching, but what I bring to this space most is that I've lived it (still am). I bring a little bit of structured chaos, directness, creativity, and joy to this space.
My special interests: Hot Wheels cars, The Sims 4, neurodivergence education
Community Agreement:
This is a space built on confidentiality, radical respect, and zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, or ableism. Full community agreements are included in the application.
